All About ME Poster.

I picked this task from the Team Toroa choosing board, and the task was to make a poster all about us. I will write what I wrote t the end of this post. I enjoyed polylining my minecraft steve because he has lots of squares, and when I colourd him I did some shading, and i think that it looks really cool. I fond it hard to find a good picture of myself, but I found this photo with my guitar. I found it easy to find pictures using the explore tool and making sure that they are free. Next time I think I should polyline more than just one picture.

The Fight Against Covid-19 (Covid V.S Pfizer)

This lockdown we have been set 2 writing tasks. This is one of them. Our task was to make a comic book about destroying covid, so I did covid v.s the vaccine. Its only weakness. I did a simple one panel comic, its not an animation. Its a comic. Some comics have both one panel pages and some long panels, and some normal panels. I found it easy to make my characters with shapes and polyline, because I chose to do simple designs so I Can focus on the story. I really like making comics, and I even made one during lockdown. I found it challenging to do the news report part of my comic, because the words would always go really tiny, and I would have to keep on pressing the button to make them bigger until they were at 90. And my stuff wouldn't group properly. For my next comic (If I make one) I might make it longer, and make the story more interesting.

My Spring Rap.

Right. I made a song. I call it Spring. Or something like that. Anyway, we had to make a poem about spring, but I made it even better and made it into a rap. I actually don't own a microphone (Unless a gaming headset counts.) So I used a soup spoon. I even recorded my "Rap" and put it into the flipgrid site. There will be a video down below, underneath my poem. Man Eminem would be proud. I think that I did a really good job with it. I had, song, comedy and tea. Can't forget about the tea. Drinking tea as we speak. This poem is basically how I see spring. I mean rap. When it rains, Netflix is my mate. When it shines.... Netflix is still my mate. Lets face it, we all spend the majority of our time inside during lockdown. And everyone's best friend is netflix or disney+. I found it hard to make my words rhyme, and to make the words sound good together. Because if it doesn't sound good, then whats the point of making it.

My Olympic Torch

In this activity we had to make an olympic torch. The original torch from the 2020 games is made out of recycled aluminum. I have chosen to make mine out of copper, and the Rings are made out of silver. I really enjoyed making this because I could use my creativity to remake something real. I found it challenging to get the rings on top of the torch, and to have the fire at the back. It was really stressful and it wasn't co-operating with me. I finally made the decision to make a copy of the top of the torch and wedging the fire between the torch and copy. Next time I think that I might make the design more complex.

Meet Paihere, My Olympic Mascot!

In this activity, our task was to make a mascot if NZ ever hosted the olympics. I think that I did a really good job on this polyline creation, because I didn't trace anything! How I got my name was I went into google translate, did English to Maori, then I did the word Beautiful and I got Paihere. I don;t want to spoil my mote so I'll let you go and have a listen to that. I found it hard to do the lips, because I couldn't get the right shape, but I got there in the end. I decided to add a little olympic symbol on her dress, just to clarify that it was and olympic mascot. I was going to do a headband but I decided that I didn't need one. Next time I think that I should add more words into my mote so it's more interesting for you guys.

My NZ Olympic Pictograms.

Our task was to remake four olympic pictograms if NZ ever hosted the olympics. I did Rugby, Football, Hockey and Horse Jumping. I chose to put the NZ flag on at least one of the sports. What I did was get the 2021 pictogram, then polyline it but with everything filed in, then I would make it look good, by shifting around the corners and edges. I thought that black and blue looked good with the sports, so I kept It all the same. My favourite sport that I polylined was probably my hockey one, and second was my horse jumping. Next time I think I should make the arms a bit better, like on the rugby one I did didn't look that good.

My Olympic Logo.

Our task was to create an olympic logo to replace the rings. Since the rings look cool and have a great meaning behind them, I decided to keep them on my logo, with the original colours. I added a border of the colours and these sword type things around the circle. Did you know that the colors of the olympic rings represent the regions of the world that are in the olympics? Blue being Europe, Yellow being Asia, Black being Africa, Green being Oceana and Red being America. Fun fact: Audi actually tried to sue the olympics because their logos look similar. Even though the olympics have been around way longer than Audi. But yeah. I really enjoyed making this logo and I'm really happy with how its turned out.

Tokyo 2020 Acrostic Poem.

This term we have been learning about the olympics. Our task today was to make an acrostic poem about the olympics. We had to use words about the olympics from our learning. Like our olympic values and what it takes to be an olympian. I really liked how I coloured the words the same colors as the olympic rings. I found it easy to think of words for this poem because of all the learning we have been doing about the olympics. I found it challenging to do some of the harder letters like Y or K. And don't get me started on the three O's. But once I got those done I was whizzing through. Next time I think I should of added more words, like two or three words a letter. That would make it pop and more words would be a challenge.

Olympic Values Animation!

In team toroa we have been learning about the Tokyo 2020 Olympic values. Like last time we had a slideshow to work through for over two weeks. This couple if weeks our slide was about the values it takes to be an Olympian. Respect, Exelents, and Friendship. I made this animation with my friends Rhodes and Ceejay. In the animation we are playing basketball. I pass it to Ceejay who threw it at the hoop. Then it bounced back at Rhodes and he jumps to dunk it in, but it missed and he hit his head. We went to see if he was okay. He jumped up and was fine. I thought that making this animation was really fun and the last part was funny. It took us around two hours to make it. Our task was to create an animation about one of the values. We did friendship, and I guess being kind as well.

The hardest part was making the characters in time. I challenge myself to do 110% of my effort in to my work, so when my friends were ready I was still mucking about with the littlest details that in my mind, needed to be fixed.  My goal for my next animation is to do more animating and less decoration, and to put more movement into the characters. What other values should they put in the olympics? Tell me your ideas in the comments down below!

Matariki Logo.

In Team Toroa we have been learning about Matariki. Matariki is the maori new year and people tell stories and have fun with family. It was recently Matariki. It was on July 2nd. You probably have heard this somewhere but next year in 2022, Matariki will be a holiday. So we will be able to stay home to celebrate with our families. Our task was to create a logo for next years holiday. I put the New Zealand flag and the 9 Matariki stars. I found it easy to think of my idea and to put it into slides using polyline. When we were on the mat on Friday and the teachers told us our instructions, I instantly thought of this. And it looked like how I saw it in my head. I found it hard to change my logo around and try different designs that would represent matariki. I originally was going to do the stars in the shape that matariki is in the sky, but then I would have to make everything else smaller so I put them around one big Matariki star. I enjoyed making this logo because I love to polyline. To me, any kind of polylining is fun and just doing art in general is fun. Next time I will get this done on a school day. Its Saturday as I'm writing this. So I guess I should stop talking to my friends and move away from distractions and just do my work.

Natural Disaster Survival Kit

In reading we have been learning about natural disasters and tsunamis. our create activity for reading was to make a survival kit for a natural disaster. I used my thinking and ideas from my persuasive writing that you can find somewhere on this blog. I found it easy to make my tems using the polyline tool, and to trace around images that were too hard to do on my own. I found it challenging to polyline my radio. I got something so simple to do and somehow make it so hard. I could of just made a brick with some buttons but instead I made a full on Sony radio, with a boombox speaker. I enjoyed learning about natural disasters and making this kit. Now I know how to be safe and how to be prepared for a dangerous disaster. Next time I will hand my mahi in on time, and spend less time making the picture look pretty.

I Am Poem

We were learning about how to write a I AM POEM. An I am poem is about you and your interests. Like what you want and what you say. You describe these things about yourself bu sing adjectives or verbs or other descriptive language. I enjoyed polylining my face. I was originally going to do an old photo but this brand new photo was better. I don't really like doing %100 my facials so I ad a bit of cartoon in there. I found it easy to make the edge of my polylined face look like mine. I used the zoom tool to make it look like the edge of my head so it looks a little bit real. I found it challenging to think of my I am's. I left a few out because I don't do some of the things like pretend. But I changed a few because a few of them actually happened

2021 Persuasive Writing: Is It Important To Be Prepared For A Natural Disaster?

We were learning about writing a descriptive piece of persuasive writing, and to persuade somebody into thinking that our idea is the right idea. I enjoyed making my publishing and polylining my equipment like my radio and my thumbs up, because I love to polyline my pictures. I found it easy to piece it together and research with the sites recorded on my Persuasive Writing Reference page. I found it hard to get going with my planning. I took a bit to think of some topics for my persuasive writing, but my head just wasn't ticking properly.  Next time I will try to jot my ideas down on my planning and brainstorming, and to think of my topics faster. It took me an entire writing session to think of my three topics for my writing. So next time I will get my ideas down faster.

Awesome Earthquake Animation By Toby And Ceejay!

In team Toroa we have been learning about earthquakes. Our task this week was to create something on google. Ceejay and I decided to make a animation about earthquakes. I found it hard to get the effect of the shaking look good. We went with the idea to take a screenie and make it shake, but it ended up looking blurry. But its okay. Nothing is perfect. I found it easy to polyline our city called Pensilvile. We added four buildings. My favourite one was the toaster oven shop. I enjoyed working with my mate Ceejay to do this animation. We did start goofing off at some points but we got it finished in the end. Next time I will try not to goof off with Ceejay. We started to get off task a couple of times. We also took a wile to make the city's buildings. But it was fun.

All About Me Logo

We were learning about creating a button all about us, and the things that we love. I found it easy to make it clear on what each section of my logo means, Like my bass guitar. You would nearly instantly know that it represents music. I found it hard to make my polylined face look good, without tracing. I try to make my work 100%, but I'm not all that impressed with my polylined face on this creation. I enjoyed making my button. You guys know I love creating stuff on google slides and drawings. Next time I will finish this at school. I'm posting this in the school holidays because I ran out of time. Whoopsies!

PB4L Logo!

We were learning about how to use Mote. Mote is a voice recorder on google slides. Just click the purple volume icon on my slide. I found it easy to polyline my PB4L logo. it represents bucket filling. The bucket is overflowing with kindness. I enjoyed using Mote to record my sentences. It is easy and fun to use. I found it challenging to think of my ideas. It took me a little wile to think of my topic. "Should I do Kind To The Environment?" I was asking myself. Then I remembered about bucket filling, and here we are! Next time I will add some more kind shapes to make my logo look more exiting.

(My next time I will was some feedback from Daniel.)

12 Days Of Kiwi Christmas.

We were learning about kiwi things we use, and do for christmas. This may include jandals, pavlova, barbeques and lots more.

I found it hard to agree with what we would include with our 12 things for christmas.

I found it easy to find the perfect images from the explore tool to put on my slides.

Next time I will not argue with my group about our backgrounds.

Made by Ceejay, Toby, Addison, Olivia and Cassidy.

What Does Christmas Mean To Me?

I was learning about what the true meaning of christmas is to me. And I say its family.

I found it easy to write my letter to the Gisborne Herald, and to transfer my work to a colourful slide.

I found it hard to polyline my characters, and find the right images for the slide.

Next time I will use the explore tool for my images. I forgot.

My Media Graphic

We were learning about what is real and what is fake, and how to tell if something is real or fake.

I found it easy to think of a famous person to do my quote on, so I chose the legend himself, Stan Lee.

I found it hard to find a good quote to use because there are so many, so I went with "Sooner Or Later, If A Man Is Ever To Be Worthy Of His Destiny, We Must Fill Our Hearts With Tolerance"

Next time I will try a bit more to blend the picture of my hero into the background a bit, so it looks a bit more real.

Guy Fawkes Acrostic Poem 🎆

We were learning about the story of Guy Fawkes, and the origin of why we celebrate it.

I found it easy to think of a word to make into a poem, like BONFIRE or FIREWORK..

I found it hard to think of words for my acrostic poem, because I find it challenging to find a word or a sentence that starts with a specific letter.

Next time I will try to add more words that rhyme, because I think that it would sound really cool.
